How the review is run

This page tells you about how we are running the review.

Our three stages:

IRMHA - how the review is run stage 1 - discover

1: Discover

September 2018 – November 2018
Finding out what people’s experience is and what we know already about the Mental Health Act.

IRMHA - how the review is run stage 2 - develop

2: Develop

March 2019 – May 2019
Thinking about ideas of how to make the law better if this is needed, so that it better supports people’s human rights.

IRMHA - how the review is run stage 3 - consult

3: Consult

August 2019 – November 2019
Asking people what they think of what we’ve found.

The review will produce its final report in December 2019.
